Growing up, what drew you to hip hop? Where there any artists or aspects of the scene which inspired you?
Dancing drew me to hip hop. I use to dance. Joey Bada$$, Kanye West, Travis Scott.

How have you seen the hip hop genre / community change over the years?
People finally became supporters of local music. New supporters day by day.

To you, what defines Australian hip hop?
No such thing as ‘Australian hip hop’ is what defines it. So many different styles that it doesn’t fit under no Australian category. I guess the lads and that do a lot of story telling, so storytelling?

What do you think lays in the future for our local scene?
It not being a local scene anymore. We going global baby 😁

Is there anything in particular that you and your music seek to achieve?
A lot of things actually, I ain’t into politics and all that but imma do anything for my people. In the lab right now, Dr. Devarn is making a cure for loneliness.

How did you come to submit your track to the WVS Next Gen Competition, and what was your thought process while waiting for the results?
It came across the Facebook feed. In my head I was like “Yo this seems very cool, this might be the Australian XXL.”

Tell us a little about the track you submitted:
It was just a song I wanted to put out ’cause I ain’t drop music in seven months. Also, the other ones were too dope to drop yet so I just made this one to release. The song is about being independent and self-made.

How did you feel when you were announced as one of the winners out of 120 entrants?!
I was mad hyped. Great feeling. It happened at the time where i was looking forward to getting booked to perform ’cause I ain’t never did no proper performance. WVS came through, as always <3

What are you most looking forward to at the WVS Next Gen Showcase?
The energy. Meeting all the local rappers and artists all get together in one venue

How do you see independent hip hop labels like WVS making a difference in the Aussie hip hop community?
I’m impressed – small start and they’re all already doing amazing stuff. They’re for the people and making very cool events and stuff to draw in new supporters of local music. Everybody making dope music so far, all we need is support and that’s what is being drawn in by the labels so far! Plus a few other blogs to connect to more people from different areas.

Which other up and coming hip hop artists do you think should be on everyone’s radar?
Titan Debirioun, Mooshamad, Petero Thony, Baby T, Bad Boy Swiss, Yxng Cairo, i.e

Tell us about what you’ll be doing next!
