Growing up, what drew you to hip hop? Where there any artists or aspects of the scene which inspired you?
Growing listening to R’n’B and old school music I guess set the vibe for me and listening to some of the greatest rappers of all time doing their thing on TV always motivated me. Artists that inspired me would have to be Michael Jackson, Biggie, Pac, Diddy, Ja Rule, 50 cent and many more!

How have you seen the hip hop genre / community change over the years?
I’ve seen the hip hop genre change over the years as it has gotten to the point where it’s not only 360 and Kerser killing it in the game but has open doors for many more artists around the country and thats litty!

To you, what defines Australian hip hop?
Multiculturalism, youngins using music to tell a story.

What do you think lays in the future for our local scene?
Artists finally making it mainstream.

Is there anything in particular that you and your music seek to achieve?
I seek good vibes and peace. Whenever someone is listening to my music I want them to connect to the vibe and have them feeling good about themselves.

How did you come to submit your track to the WVS Next Gen Competition, and what was your thought process while waiting for the results?
I was told by Matt G to give it a shot and so I did. I was kinda nervous but didn’t let it get to me.

Tell us a little about the track you submitted:
It’s about the things I want in life and what I need to do to get there! Hence the title Just Want.

How did you feel when you were announced as one of the winners out of 120 entrants?!
I was surprised tbh and was really appreciative of the opportunity I was given to showcase my sound infront of different artists around Aus on the same grind.

What are you most looking forward to at the WVS Next Gen Showcase?
Meeting and networking with all the artists performing and build from there.

How do you see independent hip hop labels like WVS making a difference in the Aussie hip hop community?
Oh they already have, I see them helping and guiding those who are hungry for success and doing whatever they can to reach their goals!

Which other up and coming hip hop artists do you think should be on everyone’s radar?
Petero Thon, Prez, Eyeson, Devarn, Phantom, Kae, Sky White, Jared Banks, GYT and theres many more!

Tell us about what you’ll be doing next!
Well i’m teaching myself how to make my own beats so hopefully I can start recording with my own beats soon and make some more flamess, also trying to expand internationally!
